Automatic measurement of vowel formants using Praat and R

This tutorial will cover how to automatically measure formant values, the method proposed in Escudero et al. (2009). This method measures formant values (both F1 and F2) 201 times by varying the setting for the formant ceiling value from 4500 Hz to 6500 Hz and finds the formant ceiling that shows the lowest variance in measured F1-F2 pairs. This tutorial will cover how to measure vowel formants with a for loop in Praat (measuring F1 and F2), find the lowest variance per speaker, and plot vowel spaces in R (finding the formant ceiling with the lowest variance).

제목: 기저형과 표면형에서 음소의 분포 분석하기

아이들은 언어 학습 단계에서 양순음-치경음 조합의 단어를 더 쉽게 발음한다 (MacNeilage & Davis, 2000). 그 이유 중 하나는 아이들이 학습 과정에서 부모로부터 양순음-치경음 조합의 단어를 많이 듣기 때문이다. 이 워크숍에서는 Python을 기반으로 (1) 정규 표현식과 사전을 사용하여 기저형의 문장을 음운규칙이 반영된 표면형으로 변환하고, (2) 변환된 문장에서 양순음-치경음 혹은 치경음-양순음 조합의 사용 빈도를 계산하는 방법을 소개하고자 한다. 참가자들은 이 워크숍을 통해 Python으로 정규 표현식과 사전을 활용하여 문장을 연구 목적에 맞게 변환하는 방법과 문장 내에서 사용된 언어적 요소들(자음, 모음, 음절, 단어, 품사 등)의 사용 빈도를 자동적으로 계산하는 방법을 배울 수 있습니다.
